these pieces were first presented in the fifth junior forum ("nachwuchsforum") of the german society for neue musik in collaboration with ensemble modern in frankfurt main on march 30, 2000. 8 out of more than ninety works of young german composers were selected for performance. instead of playing live I rather chose to manufacture a vinyl dubplate and play the record in front of the audience : the three studies of the stratocaster were pressed on the corresponding A-Side and work as an antithesis to hot air/"heiße luft" (B - Side). this release makes the work available in the digital domain.

"strat studies" recorded 10/1999 on Studer D-80 analog recorder, engineer: tommy krawallo, domino studios berlin, "heiße luft" was realised with the great help of alexander thomas at studio fw in berlin, complete mixdown by tommy krawallo, mastering by loopo@dubplates & mastering berlin.

download contains scores and photos of the original project. the photos from kulturkaufhaus dussmann were made by moritz frei in 1999 and created for the ensemble modern forum booklet.
